World-record-breaking American track and field prodigy Mary Decker and controversial South African teen runner Zola Budd were polar opposites, Mary was the wholesome star of American distance running and Zola was the barefoot teen hounded by anti-apartheid protestors. Their rivalry and meet in the 3000 metres run was hyped by the media as the event to watch at the 1984 Olympics. 32 years after that fateful meeting on the track, the real story of Mary Decker and Zola Budd is finally told.
